The Golf Lab is a full swing golf simulator in a private, friendly social setting. It's here to assist you in becoming a better, less frustrated golfer. While in the simulator you will hit real golf balls, just like on the course only into a 12-foot video / impact screen. Every shot is recorded with both 3D Doppler Radar and video cameras. The outputs are combined to inform you what transpired during your swing. You won't even know you are being analyzed, as you will hit a ball and watch it fly on the projected range or golf course. Video of your swing is available to view both immediately after a shot on the big screen as well as later from your home computer. At first the analytics will seem very technical, but after a few discussions you will be using the terms naturally.
Get anwsered "Why You ______. You fill in the blank (Slice, Hook, Go Right, Go Left, etc.)
- No more watching YouTube golf training videos or buying the latest golf gadget that supposed to work magic. We all know that it is NOT the same fix for everyone. It's about YOUR swing and what YOU are doing, that determines your shot outcome.
Our process is relatively simple. The Golf Simulator does all the work, you just hit some balls.
While you are in the Simulator the system continually tracks your movement. It knows when you hit a ball and will then track the path of the club, the speed of the club, the club face (open/closed), the ball speed, ball spin, axis of rotation, the trajectory angles, the carry distance, roll distance, and much more.
Then after hitting a dozen or so balls, patterns will emerge and you begin to learn why
The objective is to learn and improve, but let's have fun along the way. Get on a path of continuous improvement. Making golf and even practice more fun. We can even play a full 18-hole round of golf at world class golf courses that have been digitized for simulation use. Inclement weather will rarely be an issue as we are under a covered outdoor area. The Lab is located in the Village of DeLuna close to the Waterlily Recreation Center.
ABOUT OUR SESSIONS
UNDERSTAND YOUR SWING
In this session you work to understand your current Swing. We document what your swing looks like. The system will highlight how your body, swing path, club face all effect the outcome. You hit ~40/50 golf balls into the video / impact screen and let the system do the rest. Seeing what you are doing is the first step in improving your game. Come hang out with Ron / Deb and take the fist steps. You will be surprised how a little knowledge can improve your next round of golf.
WORK ON YOUR SWING
In this session we will work on your problem areas. As you improve we will start to look at your yardage to club selection process. As we use a club we will look at how the system groups the Carry distances. Each club used has a distance / grouping report on how far you carried the ball and how on target you are. You will gain an new understanding when we talk about carry distance along with total distance.
PRACTICE RANGE
This session is just hitting balls and getting the swing / ball data feedback. You know what to work on. Check out if what your doing is working. Validate your changes. Or, just hang out and have some fun. We can load up a golf game and play a few holes while practicing. The system has games which include targets to shoot for, greens at various distances, or a few holes on a course in Hawaii.
CHIPPING
Chipping is the place to cut strokes from your game. We load up a chipping range and practice hitting those targets on the simulator. Practicing this part of your game will reduce those extra strokes due to missed chips, not to mention get you closer to the pin, making those putts shorter.
RESULTS
Here we will post some of the results based on different groups.
ROUNDS OF GOLF
Playing world class golf courses. It takes about 4 hours, for a foursome to play 18-holes. Longer depending on how much time you spend looking at the analytics and socializing. The Golf Simulator looks and plays similar to being on the actual golf course - revolutionary image processing software combined with high resolution, satellite data and geophysical data produces a totally realistic 3D golf experience.
