A design is sketched onto the preparred surfboard
I design a unique concept and lay it out on the front of each surfboard. Every board has its own distinct shape—varying in length, width, thickness, and outline. Because of these differences, each design is custom-tailored to the board’s proportions, making every piece a true one-of-a-kind creation.
I remove portions of the inner core / sculpt the design into the board.
There are several ways to approach this process. I’ve developed and customized tools that allow me to grind, cut, and even melt through both the foam core and the fiberglass shell of the board.
Using various painting methods.
Each surfboard design includes a plan for how it will be painted. Boards aimed at achieving realism are typically airbrushed and brush-painted, while those with a more decorative focus are finished using techniques such as sponging, ragging, spraying, or wiping to create the desired effect..
